Selling your car through auction involves listing it on our online platform, setting a reserve, a starting price, and a buy-now price, and allowing potential car dealers/partners and direct buyers to bid on it. The highest bidder at the end of the auction will win the car.

You don’t have to pay anything to sell your vehicle through us—there are no hidden charges! However, the buyer needs to pay an admin fee of $327 (including 9% GST).

Yes, you must provide the necessary documentation, such as the car’s log card, service records, and any other relevant documents to help potential buyers make an informed decision.

While it is not required, it would be highly beneficial to furnish some images as they can communicate more effectively than words.

As the existing car owner, you need to declare your vehicle conditions as follows:

10 – Mint condition
9 – Light scratches that can be polished away
8 – Respray is needed for 1 to 2 panels of the vehicle
7 – Respray is needed for 3 to 4 panels of the vehicle
6 – The entire vehicle needs a new coat of paint
5 – Panel beating and respray are required for 1 to 2 panels of the vehicle
4 – Panel beating and respray are required for 3 to 4 panels of the vehicle
3 – Minor chassis damage
2 – Major chassis damage
1 – Major chassis damage, previous flood and fire damage
0 – Accident car, ready for scrapyard or significant repair

* Panels include front and back bumpers, side fender, door, trunk, and bonnet.

After you have accepted a final offer, our team will arrange to review your vehicle.

After reviewing the vehicle, we will contact the buyer to discuss any additional damages not mentioned in the auction listings.

We will then negotiate with you (the seller) on the spot to establish a mutually agreed-upon price that will serve as the final bid amount. This price will override the buyer’s previous higher bid, which means the buyer will purchase the car at a lower cost than what they initially bid.

Yes, you can set a reserve price for your car during the auction process. You are not obligated to sell your car if the bidding does not reach this reserve price.

The duration of an auction depends on the type chosen. Typically, auctions last anywhere from 24 hours to several days.

If your car doesn’t sell at auction, you can relist it or explore other selling options provided by SGCarStory.

While we do not encourage cancellations once an auction is live, we understand that circumstances may arise. Please contact our customer support team for further assistance and guidance on cancelling a listing.

After the successful completion of an auction, SGCarStory will facilitate communication between you and the buyer regarding payment and transfer of ownership. It is important to note that finalizing these aspects is ultimately the responsibility of both parties involved in the transaction.
